A woman suffering from depression is visited by a monstrous spectre.

Brother and sister Wilson (Evan Dumouchel) and Daphne (Libby Ewing) live small quiet lives that have been punctuated by tragedy since they were children. Upon discovering that a malevolent yellow-eyed entity may be responsible for all their misfortune, the siblings must marshal a strength they’ve never known to survive the increasingly malicious creature bent on their despair and ultimate destruction.

In another triumph of micro-budget supernatural infused drama, writer/director/producer Perry Blackshear (THEY LOOK LIKE PEOPLE, THE SIREN) has crafted a compelling and emotionally complex drama that tackles the shared trauma of family in such an intense and nuanced way that the inclusion of a paranormal nemesis feels wholly authentic and utterly terrifying. Dumouchel and Ewing have incredible chemistry, highlighted in their raw and emotionally heartfelt performances. WHEN I CONSUME YOU does so much more than your typical indie genre flick, deftly balancing our everyday fears with the dread and horror of those shadowy nightmares that slink and hide just out of view, ready to pounce on us in the dark.

“Of all the films shown at Fantasia this year, When I Consume You by Perry Blackshear is one of the most successful. Haunting, distressing, destabilizing, this quest for a brother to rescue his sister is blood-curdling, recalling how independent American cinema is still capable of great things.” – Martin Gignac, LA PRESSE

“A captivating revenge tale…provides realism and a grounded narrative that should appeal to horror and non-horror fans alike.” – Brian Fanelli, HORROR BUZZ

“When I Consume You is a powerful family drama rooted in fear and isolation. It’s a raw, emotional reminder of the battles we face, and — most importantly — why we fight them.” – Kelly McNeely, IHORROR
