In this anxiety-inducing dark drama, Ori Segev and Noah Dixon’s impressive first feature explores the indie music scene in Columbus, Ohio. Real-life bands boasting genres like “Junkyard Bop” and “Queer Death Pop” populate the impossibly stylish world of the film. Dark basement clubs, seedy warehouses, and edgy art galleries are painstakingly brought to life. To call the film cool is an incredible understatement. But beyond the scenester aspect is a deep, unflinching look at outsiders and the desperate lengths we will go to for the simple human need of acceptance.
