Amira tells a tale of a planned excursion to the local haunted house.
Shot in Ireland and directed by Italian filmmaker Carlo Lavagna, SHADOWS is an otherworldly film which explores the themes of environmental destruction, fear and survival.
Alma and Alex, two sisters, are survivors. They live deep in the woods with their mother, a strict, over-protective woman who has sheltered them from ominous presences, the Shadows, which live in the daylight and infest the world beyond the river. When they follow their mother, out for hunting, Alma and Alex start a series of events which will lead them to the discovery of the truth about the Shadows and their own reality.
SHADOWS is a dark coming of age tale for the 21st century. A story about conquering the fears of your parents but also learning to cope with the future that our civilization is driving towards.
“Inspiring and uplifting in equal amounts, Harvey and Kummer’s fangs-and-all documentary is, like its subject, one of a kind.” – Marc Savlov, Austin Chronicle
“By the triumphant curtain call, as young Scott trots onstage for a very professional bow in full Xenomorph garb, it’s clear “Alien on Stage” has completely captured the hearts of the audience – film, theater, and Christopher Guest lovers alike.” – Jude Dry, Indiewire
